Obituary


Carolyn L McLachlan was born in Watertown Massachusetts on December 31, 1929 to Joseph and Mary Fay Lukshaw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Michael McLachlan and a sister, Leonore Kendall.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Gail (Jimmy) Sherman of LaGrange Georgia, Maureen (Steve) Nelson of Tampa Florida, and Bill (Debbie Hallas) McLachlan of New Milford Connecticut; her eight grandchildren, Jamie (Carol Landsdell) Sherman, Craig (Courtney O'Sullivan) Sherman, Kim Nelson, Matt McLachlan, Neil Sherman, Patrick Nelson, Mike McLachlan, and Lauren...

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Gail (Jimmy) Sherman of LaGrange Georgia, Maureen (Steve) Nelson of Tampa Florida, and Bill (Debbie Hallas) McLachlan of New Milford Connecticut; her eight grandchildren, Jamie (Carol Landsdell) Sherman, Craig (Courtney O'Sullivan) Sherman, Kim Nelson, Matt McLachlan, Neil Sherman, Patrick Nelson, Mike McLachlan, and Lauren McLachlan; her two great-grandchildren Hunter Sherman and Sarah Sherman; and a sister Marianne Conway of Woburn Massachusetts.
Carolyn moved to Danbury Connecticut when she married William McLachlan in 1954. While raising her three children, Carolyn volunteered her time and resources to many good causes, such as the American Red Cross, Unicef, Head Start, and American Heart Association. She also served as chairman of the Republican Town Committee in Danbury, volunteered at Park Avenue Elementary School, and was always willing to help anyone in need. Carolyn and Bill resided in South Palm Beach from the 1980s until Carolyn was widowed in 2009 and moved to LaGrange Georgia to be near her daughter Gail.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of LaGrange in her name. Services for Carolyn will be in Danbury Connecticut.
